God Has Your Back & Three Miracles

What a week. I'm not even sure where to begin. Has God ever caught you completely off guard by bringing life back into something you long since accepted was dead?

It makes me think of the story of Yeshua and Lazarus. Jesus walked into a community of people crying, devastated, wailing, and sitting shiva- observing the Jewish-mandated time of deep mourning- and brought life.

"I am the resurrection and the life," He told Martha.

This whole year for me has been one of God showing me that it's not over until He says it's over and this week was no different. This week, something I had long accepted was gone, done, dead...He restored. Out of seemingly nowhere.

When I first lost this valuable thing, I was upset and did pray about it (I think I did anyway), but if I'm being honest, I probably felt deep down as if it were too trivial and unimportant in a world full of big issues for God to bother much with. The forces stacked up against me also seemed too big.

I know this all sounds silly. What's bigger than God? Nothing. Who can out-scheme His plans? No one. But I accepted the loss and moved on quickly, only thinking about it in passing from time to time.

But then, almost two years later...He brought it back. The interesting thing is, the night before, I had a dream that hinted something was about to happen.

The atmosphere that this came about it was one where I'd experienced a renewed sense of fight: to not so easily accepting when things are taken from me, but push back.

When you've lost many things in life, it's easy to get in the habit of moving on quickly. It's a survival mechanism.

I believe God is right now teaching those who have picked up the habit of spiritualizing defeat to stand and fight knowing God is our strength and our shield. He goes before us.

He carries life and resurrection for any dead area of our lives.

I talk about all of this in the new episode of God of Miracles, my podcast about...well, how God is still the God of Miracles.

In this episode, I share how God reminded me this week through happenings and dreams that He’s got me (and you) and how I experienced my own unexpected restorative miracle. I also share three beautiful miracle stories.

Hang in there. Don't give up because unless it's good, God isn't finished.

How Staying Focused Keeps You Afloat

In the last post I wrote about how in the story of Nehemiah, two men called Sanballat and Tobiah were instantly disturbed by Nehemiah's plan to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

Then they laughed and accused Nehemiah of doing wrong. Nehemiah didn't fight them or go on a tirade defending himself. His answer to his newly formed panel of agitators was to state his unmoving faith in God. Even as they spread falsehoods against Nehemiah, he prevailed. How? He kept his eyes on the One who had given him his project. Focus will keep you on track and even in joy as you work. Keep reading.

Rejecting Every False Prophecy/Curse & Choosing God's Vision

When Sanballat and his buddies realized he could not attack Nehemiah's body, they tried to attack his mind with accusations. When they realized the attacks on the mind did not work, they tried to attack his spirit by having him come into physical agreement with false prophecy of imminent attack and death ("they will come and kill you").

What has been falsely prophesied over your work? That it's not a good time to start? That the economy isn't good enough? That no one will like your work? That it will fail? That you're not the one to do it? The enemy cannot physically make you stop but he will try to discourage and discredit you. Come out of agreement with any false prophetic word and come into agreement God's sight for your project. Keep reading.
